Wednesday 1 April 2026 D& T - Can I evaluate something that I have made? We have been able to test our vehicles and evaluate whether it met the design criteria. Did it travel in a straight line? Did the wheels turn? Could it move backwards and forwards? We built ramps as a way of testing our vehicles and we were very pleased with the results.

Tuesday 31 March 2026 Geography - Can I compare two countries in the world? We have been able to compare and contrast two countries in the world - England and Somalia. We found out that somethings were similar - both border an ocean and both border other countries. We were surprised at some of the things that were different.

Friday 27 March 2026 D&T - Can I create and design the body of a vehicle? We have created and designed a chasis for our vehicles. We have been able to mark out places for the axles to sit so that we can add the wheels.

Tuesday 24 March 2026 PSHCE- Who can help us? Underpinned by the understanding that we are created to love God and others,we have explored different scenarious to help us understand what action we should take in an emergency situation. We have role played a variety of scenarios and discussed as a class what the outcome should be.

Friday 20 March 2026 D&T - Can I mark & cut out a piece of card to create a chasis? As part of our Design and Technology project, we have explored card construction techniques and worked together to mark out, cut and join together sections of card. We needed to ensure that we worked together so that our lines were straight. We held our friends rulers and helped each other cut out the chasis ready for the next part of our project.

Wednesday 18 March 2026 Geography - Using a map, can I find out some of the characteristics of the UK? We have been building on our Atlas skills and finding out some of the characteristics of the UK including the climate and weather, if there are any mountains and the famous landmarks. We have noticed that the UK is an island which will help us in our next few Geography lessons as we explore the world further.

Tuesday 17 March 2026 Can I innovate a story? We have been generating new ideas for our story of Grandma Bird by Benji Davies. We have created a new receipe idea for Grandma with our partners and then been able to think of our own. We will now start to write our own version.

Thursday 12 March 2026 D&T - Can I create a vehicle with a wheel and an axle? We have explored a range of every day vehicles. With our understanding of wheels and axles we have been able to create our moving vehicles.

Tuesday 10 March 2026 Music - Can I play in a band? After our weeks of practice and learning the notes of the Boomwhackers, we have been able to perform to each other in small groups as part of a band. We have worked very hard to listen and grown in confidence with our performances.

Tuesday 10 March 2026 KCSP Science Day! Dolphin Class have really enjoyed their KCSP Science Day. We have explored floating and sinking. Tasked with the problem 'How to make a carrot float' - we explored a range of materials, planned how to test our ideas and then found out if we have been successful.

Tuesday 3 March 2026 Science - Do human body parts change with age? After exploring life cycles and considering what is the same and different, we were posed with the question 'Do human body parts change with age?'. To explore this further, we considered that scientists would use measurements to see how things change and grow.

Monday 2 March 2026 Geography - What does a globe and satellite show us about earth? We have learnt that we live on the planet earth. We have looked at different images of earth and seen how the earth is represented. We have been able to show this in our own pictures to remind us that earth's surface is covered in land and water.

Monday 19 January 2026 Science - Which ball is the bounciest? As part of our exploration of everyday materials, we have considered which ball is the bounciest. We have thought about our knowledge of materials and made a prediction. We have then tested our predictions to find out the answer.
