TERM 5
Schools then, schools now
How were schools different in Victorian times from schools today?
In 'Schools then, schools now' we will be able to answer the enquiry question: How were schools different in Victorian times from schools today? We will learn about some of the history of our own school, before finding out what schools were like in Victorian times. We will study artefacts from Victorian schools to find out what they were used for and what they can tell us about the past. We will 'meet' Samuel Wilderspin, the creator of infant school education, and experience what it was like to learn in a Victorian classroom. At the end of our project, they will compare schools in Victorian times with schools today.
If you require further support with any of the home learning arrangements, please speak to Mrs Handford.
Our PE days are: Monday and Thursday
Please come to school dressed in your PE kit on these days with earrings removed and long hair tied up.
Year 2 Forest School: Tuesday
Home Reading
Please ensure that you listen to your child read 5 times a week. We will be monitoring this in class and changing reading books every Friday. If you finish reading your book before, then please re-read it for fluency. We will be sending home 2 reading books: 1 based on their reading level and 1 book of their choice.
Please ensure your child brings a water bottle to school each day.
Please apply sun cream before school in warm weather.
Please book school dinners online and in advance.
