HISTORY: Anglo-Saxon Monastery
How did Christianity return to the British Isles?
In our History learning we have been learning about the importance of the return to Christianity in Anglo-Saxon Britain. The children learnt about how Pope Gregory I, asked Monk Augustine to travel to Kent to convert the King. Not only did Augustine covert King Aethelberht, but he built Canterbury Cathedral and in doing so eventually became St Augustine. The children had thinking time with their learning partner about the local visit trips we have made to Canterbury and we explored Google Earth at our local area.
